Mrs. Toad's Simply Divine



1 cup Mrs. Toad's Strawberry Rhubarb Jam

1 cup Mrs. Toad's Blackberry Jam

could use any one or two flavors of Mrs. Toad's Simply Divine Jams & Jellies

1 cup butter (salted), softened

1 cup pecans, chopped

2 cups light brown sugar

6 eggs

2 teaspoons ground nutmeg

1/2 cup chopped dates

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

2 teaspoons baking soda

4 cups flour

1/2 teaspoons salt

2 cups buttermilk



2 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons milk

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 cup confectioner's sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


1. Grease 3 8-inch cake pans, and preaheat oven to 325 degrees F. Set aside.


2. Mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in one bowl.


In another, mix 1/2 cup of the flour with the pecans and dates.


3. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites.


4. Add the brown sugar, butter, and blackberry jam & strawberry rhubarb jam to the egg yolks. Mix well. Add the buttermilk and stir. Add the flour mixture.


5. Beat the egg whites until they are well mixed, and then fold inot the batter. 


6. Strin in the pecans and dates.


7. Pour the batter into the 3 cake pans and bake for about 45 minutes to an hour... or until a toothpick comes out clean.


Let it cool completely before icing.


Preparing the icing:


1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, and mix in 3 tablespoons of milk and brown sugar. Bring to a rolling boil for 1 minute.


2. Remove from heat and add 1/2 of the confectioner's sugar. Let it cool slightly and then beat in the vanilla and remaining 1/2 of confectioner's sugar. Add a little more milk if it becomes too thick.

Old Fashioned


1 teaspoon- 1 tablespoon Mrs. Toad's Simply Divine Ambrosia Conserve

3 ounces of your favorite Bourbon (we like Bulleit or Maker's Mark)

1 cup crushed ice

splash of sparkling water


1. Add Ambrosia Conserve to 3 oucnes of Bourbon, mix well.

2. Add crushed ice, and stir well.

3. Top with splash of sparkling water, stir.



Three Toads Farm Style



This one is so simple. Simply combine our simply divine Cranberry Conserve with Red OR White wine and sparkling water. We suggest a tablespoon per glass or 2/3 jar per bottle of wine. Equal parts sparkling water & wine. If you're feeling fancy add a twist of orange or even float some whole cranberries. Enjoy this fabulous Christmas Cheer!

Mrs. Toad's Simply Divine

Ambrosia Mimosa


1 tablespoon of Mrs. Toad's Simply Divine Ambrosia Conserve

4 oz Champagne

small splash of OJ (really just a splash- you don't need much!)


Simply add 1 tablespoon of Ambrosia Conserve to a wine class or champagne flute. Pour in 4 oz (or more) of Champagne and top with a tiny splash of OJ. Sit back and sip away! 



Mrs. Toad's Simply Divine

Jam Thumbprint Cookies


3 1/4 cups flour

3 sticks butter (room temperature)

1 cup sugar

1 large egg

your favorite Mrs. Toad's Simply Divine Gourmet Jams & Jellies- quality jam is what makes this cookie so wonderful!

Beat butter & sugar in electric mixer. Add egg & mix well. With mixer on low, add flour. 

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on greased baking sheet. 

Moisten thumb and gently press the center of each ball, making an indention about 1 inch deep and 1/2 inch wide. 

Heat jam until thin and spoon about 1/2 teaspoon into each indention. 

Bake cookies until golden around edges. 18-20 min at 350 degrees.

Cranberry Smothered Brie


1 Wheel of Brie

1 Jar of Mrs. Toads Simply Divine Cranberry Conserve

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

crackers or toasted baguette 


Place whole wheel of brie on baking sheet or pie pan. We've found a pie pan is quite easy, and something you DON'T have to tranfer the brie out of before serving. Bake brie at 375 for about 10 minutes, or until oozy inside.


Cover with a jar of Mrs. Toad's Simply Divine Cranberry Conserve and top with a handful of chopped walnuts. Serve with crackers or toasted baguette. ENJOY!



 Ice Cream

Mrs. Toad's Simply Divine

A quite simple but luxurious treat! 

Thaw one carton of vanilla ice cream and stir in 3/4 or 1 whole jar of Mrs. Toad's simply divine Ambrosia Conserve with Bourbon. Set back in freezer for at least 30 min and enjoy in a waffle cone or a bowl!

Homemade Pop-tart Hearts



Simply cut heart shapes in pie crust (store bought or homemade), add a dollop of Mrs. Toad's Jam, cover with another dough heart, press the edges with a fork, and bake at 425 for 10 min. A thoughtful  (and delicious!) way to say "I love you!"


Optional to ice and add red sprinkles.
